Why can my memory be used when installed in a specific slot, but it won’t work if I change the slot

Generally, motherboards have two or four slots to install memory. Some motherboards have priority slots due to the wiring, as shown in the figure below.


Therefore, it is recommended to refer to the relevant user manual to confirm whether it is installed in the correct slot to ensure better compatibility.
