Can I use Time Machine to back up data?

Yes, you can. The most common format for a Time Machine backup disk is Mac OS Extended format, but the default format of JetDrive Lite (JDL) is exFAT. If you've already stored data in your JDL, the data will be lost once you run Time Machine as the data in your JDL will be formatted to Mac OS Extended.
