What makes JetDrive series special compared to other standard SATA SSDs?

Transcend's JetDrive series can be divided into two type of storage interface, SATA for JDM420/JDM500/JDM520/JDM720/JDM725 and PCIe for JDM820/JDM825/JDM850/JDM855. 

Most of the Mac models launched before 2013 were designed with a non-standard SATA  interface, and are not compatible with mSATA or M.2 SSDs. 

Transcend's JetDrive series are designed for specific Mac products.
